Colours to Share
Kiley Walsh
“Colours to Share”
Party of One.
Lunch all alone.
Far from the groups,
…and the cliques,
……and the known.
Thoughts full of “DON’Ts”.
Scared of the “DO’s”.
His familiar cold feet
keep his eyes on his shoes.
Just then there is warmth
from a hand that extends,
gentle but firm
with intention to mend…
….some kindness to send
to his lonely days’ end,
she has colours to share
to help her new friend.
It just takes a little
to make it all new,
Was a party of one,
now a party of Two.
