"Eddie's Work"
If I work six Saturdays and three afternoons,Doing odd jobs and skipping cartoons,
I’ll have some money for those things that I like,
And maybe enough for that flashy green bike!
Learning to earn, and put cash in my bank
takes effort and grit and gas for my tank.
But more than the money, the work is the goal,
Dad says “ a hard day of work is good for the soul.”
So, with elbows in grease and dirt in my cuffs,
and shoes stained green, and sweat in my buff,
I’ll do all my chores, and all the stuff,
‘Cause I can do the hard things, I’m Eddie Nuff.
