Grampa's Time

Grampa's Time

Kiley Walsh
Grampa’s Time

I sit in his chair
eager to know,
the in’s and the out’s
of how things go.

He tells me what happened
to him long ago,
and says smart things like:
 “When in doubt, go slow.”

He asks of my day
like i’m number one,
and hears all my words
all the way ‘til i’m done.

He doesn’t seem rushed,
never talks like a race,
He is calm and He’s wise,
with words carefully placed.

A Book without Faces
a Chat without Snap
My Grampa’s clock
is my favourite Tik Tok.

Your work is amazing and your poems so heartwarming. I worked with Bill for many years and you captured so well his disposition in the poem and the amazing likeness in your portrait!,
